NEW YORK -- With 15 years of hindsight, Kiefer Sutherland now thinks it's a good thing that Julia Roberts left him at the aisle.
Sutherland told Rolling Stone, "thank God" she saw "how young and silly" they were at the time.
However, Sutherland hasn't forgiven his friend Jason Patric, who took Roberts to Ireland after she broke off the engagement.
The "24" star said he's "surprised" Patric never called him to say he'd "fallen in love" with Roberts.
Sutherland said he had to find out "from a stranger."

Kiefer saison 6-7-8 ?
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "24" star Kiefer Sutherland has inked a multifaceted deal with 20th Century Fox Television.
The rich pact, which is set to begin in June, calls for the actor to continue on the hit Fox drama for three more years and includes a two-year development deal for Sutherland's soon-to-be-launched production banner.
Details on the deal were sketchy, but sources pegged the acting portion alone at more than $40 million for the three seasons, which could make Sutherland the highest-paid actor in drama series.
While the deal with Sutherland locks him in for three additional years beyond the current fifth season of "24," the 20th TV/Imagine TV-produced show so far has been picked up for one additional season.
Under the pact, Sutherland also will be elevated from a co-executive producer to executive producer on "24" next season alongside Joel Surnow, Robert Cochran, Howard Gordon and Evan Katz.
The development portion of the deal is said to include overhead and a development fund for Sutherland's company. Sutherland will hire a development executive and will begin to develop and executive produce projects for television as well the Internet and wireless devices.

SUITE: le film ?
Finally, while the deal with Fox is for TV only, Sutherland said he and the show's producers continue to believe in the idea of bringing the 24 franchise to the big screen. The earliest the movie would begin shooting, however, is late spring 2007, Sutherland said.
Quality control is the chief reason a 24 feature couldn't shoot during the upcoming hiatus, Sutherland added.
"It was really Joel and Bob and Howard realizing that if we were going to squeeze it in during the break, we would have been rushing it," he said. "If we were going to do it, we would do it next summer. It's still a big 'if.' We would not go forward unless we thought we could do it right."
The film likely would depart from the series by condensing an entire day into about two hours, rather than unfolding in real time.
Sutherland isn't shooting a feature this hiatus in anticipation of working on a 24 film next summer.

Soit le contrat de 40 Millions de dollars ne concerne que les films à venir et il quitte la série ...
